The Good News And The Not So Good News..

On 24th January 2010,

The Good News...

The bone marrow coordinator informed us that there are 2 low frequency level match in the USA. Thus without delay, we made the necessary payment to the bone marrow donor programme (BMDP) to proceed with the high frequency matching.

The Not So Good News...

The cost spent will not guarantee that there will be a complete match. Each test will cost us $2,550, in this case we have paid $5,100. If it does not match, the amount spent will be lost. The process then starts all over again.

If only if, the match is successful, the next step will be the stem cell collection and courier over to Singapore that will cost us about $55,000 hard cold cash. This amount cannot be claimed from our CPF medisave or her medishield. Other than the said cost, the hospital procedures and stay continue to run its costs...

How long is this going to be? We are not sure ourselves, until then she has to continue chemo treatment. When the donor is found, then the final chemo will be administered.

As our CPF medisave & medishield will be drying up in the coming months soon...pray for financial providence.

Importantly, please pray for the donor to respond quickly, for the screening and a complete match. Pray for Debbie to have strength and courage to go through these trying times...
